BCCI suspended Indian wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant for one match and fined him Rs 30 lakh.

During IPL 2024, Delhi Capitals captain has been suspended for one match due to slow over rate. He missed the next match against Royal Challengers Bengaluru, a must-win match for his team to stay in the race for the finals.

In the match against Rajasthan Rahul, the Delhi captain was found guilty of slow over-rate for the third time in a row, due to which he has been severely punished.

For violating the Indian Premier League's code of conduct, he will be suspended for the crucial match and will also have to pay a fine of INR 3 million.

Delhi Capitals appealed against Rishabh's one-match suspension and fine on behalf of the match referee, but the BCCI ombudsman has ruled against him.

In a statement released by the Indian board, it was said that since this was their team's third slow over rate of the season, it was considered a violation of the IPL code of conduct. Rishabh Pant is therefore fined Rs 30 lakh and suspended for one match.

The remaining members of the playing XI, including the impact players, were each fined individually Rs 12 lakh or 50% of their respective match fees.
